Lindsay Karty talks about her DLECTRICITY installation "The Mothership and Mental Machine" outside of People's Records in Midtown Detroit on October 07, 2012.
The Mothership and Mental Machine is an interactive tribute to the human radio: Electrifying Mojo. The grassy lot next to Peoples Records will be transformed into a "Mothership" that is controlled via an interactive console named "The Mental Machine." Participants are welcome to use the console to work the mothership's video projection, light, and sound by turning knobs, flipping switches, and creating sounds. The Mental Machine will include a "shout-out line" telephone that will be amplified throughout the site. Everyone is welcome to talk to the Mental Machine during Dlectricity by calling (313) 986-1976. Prepare to be broadcast, then give us a shout-out!
On Saturday night, Be Nice Yoga will host an education & vibrational listening/movement/meditation event. Use your bodies, minds, and spirits to connect to the living consciousness of Mojo and his legacy. Studio event takes place on Saturday 10/6 from 9:00-10:15 p.m. Bring a mat and be prepared to move -- listen -- splash -- honk your horn -- stand -- turn your porch light on -- dance -- practice -- concentrate -- meditate -- get down in this town.
