Bio:

Britta Persson started her solo career by selling demos over the Internet. From the very first note there was a confidence and unique openness that soon gave her a big following. After 2 000 orders she decided to quit selling demos and instead she started working on her debut album.
"Top Quality Bones and a Little Terrorist" came out in 2006 and showcased a very special sense for melodies and arrangements. The debut was recorded with small means, but the ambition was big and lit clear.
Two years later the album was followed by "Kill Hollywood Me" which in many ways satisfied the high expectations, built up by her first recording. The songs were given a full instrumentation and a big sound that suited the songs perfectly. The single "Cliffhanger" was played frequently on the radio and Britta went on tour in Germany and England together with Camera Obscura. She also did a tour in Brazil with Those Dancing Days and Loney Dear.
"Current Affair Medium Rare" was released in 2010 on the, back then, recently started label Selective Notes. The new beginning clearly did Britta and her band good and it was a consistent and very elaborated pop album that was introduced to the audience. Britta was nominated at the Swedish Grammy award ("Female artist of the year"), was given the prize "Best composer" at the Manifest award in Stockholm and performed on her home country's biggest TV-shows. The same year she returned to Europe, doing a tour with fellow Swedes Johnossi.
Apart from doing her own music Britta Persson is a frequently hired singer and her voice can be heard with both Camera Obscura and a number of Swedish top artists. This spring she joins Kleerup on his latest release.
"If I Was a Band My Name Would Be Forevers" will be released on April 17th through Selective Notes/Razzia. We recognize her voice and the fine song writing but there is another dimension to this album. Both lyrics and music are more extroverted, there is a newly found groove and the sound is more luxurious. Markus Jägerstedt, Britta Persson and Per Nordmark produced the album. Furthermore Petter Winnberg (Miike Snow) and Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John) contributed.
The first single is titled "Baby No Name" (release: March 8th) and according to Britta it is a song about seeing the enchantment in using the ditch as a road. And musically she definitely chooses her very own path, as she always did. Regardless if she uses the ditch or the highway we just follow her. You can hear that she knows where we are going.
