The Woman by the Oak

I was walking in the wild wood
On a cold winter's morn alone
As I gazed into the distance
I saw a circle of standing stones
............................
As I started walking towards it
I looked down at the ground below
It was covered in a blanket of white diamonds
And the diamonds were made of snow
................................
The leaves on the trees had all fallen
And their branches were plain and bare
The trees sang in an ancient tree language
And their music filled the air
.......................................
In the middle of the stone circle
Stood an altar of the ancient ways
And the altar it was glowing
From the kiss of the sun's golden rays
.........................................
As I looked back to the wild wood
I saw a woman by an old oak tree
And then as the woman's eyes met mine
She raised her hand and called to me
..........................
As my view of the woman became clearer
I saw she had a smile on her face
Then I followed her through the wild wood
To a well in an ancient place
...........................
As I looked into the ancient well
I saw my inner truths, my past, and history
Then the woman began to walk away
Towards the circle and the old oak tree
..........................................
All the birds were singing as she passed them
And from her footprints the plants began to rise
Then she lifted the blanket of white diamonds
And cleared away the darkness from the skies.
..................................
Then the woman disappeared
And the standing stones began to sing
The wild wood had awakened
The winter had turned to spring.

*Chorus is not written. It is simply "Brigantia" 4 times.
