For the "Live From The Inside" DVD, I had a new Mason & Hamlin grand piano brought in for the session and I instantly loved that piano. So, I asked the folks at Mason & Hamlin if we could do a little trade out and today we made the switch!! Every single piano is slightly different so there were some subtleties that I just liked better on the new one. This video is of the guys at Encore PIano Movers actually moving in the new piano after they had just taken out my old piano. The M&H 7' grand piano weighs close to 1,000 lbs so its one of the heaviest and hardest pianos to move!!! I'm very excited to hear this piano on the new record as it has an added clarity in the high register that I like more over the other piano that I had. See if you can notice the difference between the piano 'sound' on "It's On Tonight" and "Bringing Back The Funk" versus then this new recording when it comes out in July. One thing's for sure, I would not want that job!!!
