Chickasaw Indian, Born in Dallas, Texas and raised just a block away from the local concert arena in Norman, Oklahoma, Branden James Hart spent many nights of his childhood watching and learning from the big shows. If he couldn't get a ticket, just hearing George Strait, KISS, or Journey through the backstage door was more than enough. The energy of the concerts sparked an undying desire to create his own music.
While attending Norman High, and then The University of Oklahoma, Branden began to consider songwriting and performing as a career. After playing local writer's nights and open mic's, he decided to make the move to Nashville. While selling boots in downtown Music City, Branden struggled for five years before getting his first break.
In May 2000, Pat Higdon, Kent Earls and Shawn Heflin signed Branden to his first publishing deal at Universal Music Publishing Group Nashville. Hart is writing with such veteran songwriters as Mark D. Sanders, Tommy Lee James, Ed Hill, Stephony Smith, Gary Burr, Kostas, and Tia Sillers.
Branden also landed a lead in "On Music Row," a movie about up-and-coming singer/songwriters, which airs on the CMT network.
Although Branden's dream is to be a successful recording artist, he spends much of his time writing great songs. Recently Mercury recording artist Mark Wills recorded Branden's song "That's A Good Thang" and new Lyric Street recording artist Brian McComas recorded Branden's song "Come With Me" for his debut release. Recently, Branden opened for such acts as Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam, Pat Green, Craig Morgan, Gary Allan, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and headlined The State Fair of Oklahoma.
In a few short months, Branden's music has spread like wildfire across Oklahoma radio stations. Branden hit the Top Ten most requested for ten weeks on 96.9 The Bull with "That's How She Talked Me Into This" and a 20 to 1 stay or go on 101.9 The Twister's, "Test Drive at Five" with his song "Summer In Wichita". With the support of his amazing fans, Branden is more than excited to have the chance to fulfill his dream – to be on the inside of an arena near you, playing the songs you know by Hart.
