Devyce - From Beyond - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 04, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Performing during a benefit for David Hardison at the Live Bar in Greenville, North Carolina on Saturday November 1, 2014.

"From Beyond" is an original Devyce song dedicated to David Hardison, bass player for the band Boneyard, whom suddenly passed on Tuesday October 28, 2014.

Devyce was originally formed in late 2001 in an old tin barn on the outskirts of Macclesfield, NC as long-time friends Dustin Askew (Deadstroke) & Glen Stewart (Strangelust) joined forces to create a band of dedicated talented musicians who were ready to take things to the next level. After releasing an independent CD, establishing the name with shows within North Carolina, and member changes, highly regarded technical drummer and friend of the band Robbie Mercer (Ascendancy) joined the lineup along with a new vocalist. Devyce signed with Jagermeister and went on to play over 50 shows within a 9 month period during 2003.

Dustin Askew - guitar, vocals
Glen Stewart - bass, vocals
Robbie Mercer - drums
Jeff Ivey - vocals

The band members moved onto other projects sometime after that...
Dustin joined the 80's cover band Suicide Blonde.
Robbie went on to play in NC metal bands Strychnine Soul & Dark Design.
Glen started working for various internet companies.
Jeff Ivey added as the new front man in 2012.

Devyce regrouped in early 2012, realizing there was the same brotherhood and spirit there as when the band first came together.

From Beyond lyrics...

Where will I go when I close my eyes for the last time
What will I say when I take my last breath
Where will I be when my heart hits that last beat
What lies ahead for me beyond my death

But the question of most concern will I fly or will I burn
Will it forever be black or somehow will I make it back
From beyond where will it be
From beyond will I live eternally
Forever

What things will they say about me at my wake
Who will be there and whose hearts will mourn
Will my loved ones tears fall upon my face
Wreaths and flowers will they adorn

But the question of most concern will I fly or will I burn
Will it forever be black or somehow will I make it back
From beyond where will it be
From beyond will I live eternally
Forever

Will my body turn to dust as my spirit flies on
To Gods home up above and beyond

But the question of most concern will I fly or will I burn
Will it forever be black or somehow will I make it back
From beyond where will it be
From beyond will I live eternally
Forever
Forever
Forever
Eternally
