We finally made it back to Denver, Greg's hometown, and it was spectacular. We played an out door free show in Civic Center Park. It was a Festival For Water put on by Water For People which is a world wide organization that helps people in undeveloped countries secure good drinking water. Some people in other countries like Rwanda have to walk for miles to get fresh drinking water. Water For People are concerned and do many great things to get folks the ability to have clean drinking water. It was a pleasure to play for an event like this and to know there are people in this world who really care for mankind.
There is a great Denver band called The Motet who played after us. Very funky and lots of good energy. During our set we had two of their horn players play with us. We also had Tuba Steve sit in on sousaphone and Shawn King from Devotchka who played trumpet and was DJ'ing between sets. It was a fun set of music and we loved being out here in the thin air, one mile high in the altitude.
