In 2002 the second album "Man Mountain" was released on XL Recordings, which saw Blue States up the anti somewhat with the addition of vocalist Ty Bulmer. Including a string quartet, horn section and a kids choir "Man Mountain" was an all together grander affair, the standout track being 'Season Song' which ended up on the 28 Days Later soundtrack.


Blue States are an English downtempo music band, headed up by Andy Dragazis.
Andy Dragazis is a composer and producer, best known as the brains behind BLUE STATES which established itself in 2000 with the critically acclaimed debut album 'Nothing Changes Under the Sun'. Andy has written and produced five BLUE STATES albums since, including 'Man Mountain' with the track Season Song featuring on Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later.

Since Blue States' creation, Andy has also produced a number of artists and albums as well as forging a career in film and television. He has recently worked on a number of films (shorts and features), as well as commercials for the likes of Budweiser, Guinness and Max Factor. Working from his studio in North London, Andy combines his multi-instrumentalist talent with a filmic sensibility on top of high production skills, resulting in an ability to work on a broad range of musical projects. The band has been active since 1997, and is currently working, based in London, England. There have been four albums to date, the latest 'First Steps Into...' in 2007, with a B-sides collection Sum Of The Parts in 2009 only available from the iTunes Store. A track from their 2002 album Man Mountain, "Season Song", appeared on the soundtrack to the British horror film, 28 Days Later.[dated info]


Vocals on the album Man Mountain were provided by Tahita Bulmer, who is now a member of New Young Pony Club.

In 2008, Blue States contributed the song "Hello Kombai" to the Survival International charity album, Songs for Survival.
