"Hymn To A Blue Hour" is a beautiful concert band piece by John Mackey. The "blue hour" is the period of twilight where the sun has set but the darkness hasn't settled in. John Mackey, who's not usually a fan of slow music, wrote this piece in response to a challenge from fellow composers to write a slow, lyrical piece for band.
