Blessed Voices

Kwaku, Meshach, Cameron and Jermaine are the four young men that make up the gospel group Blessed Voices. Their sound is a fusion of rhythm, praise and acapella, fusing together styles such as Traditional Gospel, Soul, Reggae and Jazz.



Their journey as a group started in September 2000 and within two months they had the privilege of singing before Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward Earl of Wessex and the Countess of Wessex.



In 2001 their music took them to Holland, then back to London for the Croydon Film Festival’s Music Video Challenge, where they won awards for Best Single, Best Artist, Best Choreographer and Best Director. In December 2001 they were runners up in the Choice FM Night Flight Talent Quest.



2002 proved to be a life changing year for Blessed Voices as they saw their talents recognised in the mainstream media. In May of that year, they won the Channel 4/Lion TV "Gospel Singers of the Year" award. The programme was televised on Saturday 11th May 2002, and saw them up against 9 of some of the most talented unsigned gospel artists from around the country. With an acapella rendition of the old favourite Draw Me Nearer they impressed the distinguished judges enough to win the coveted prize.



This led them to performances on BBC Radio Five Live, The EMMA Awards (2002 and 2003), an opportunity to support Mary Mary in concert and a two-year stint as a headlining act with the London Community Gospel Choir at the Royal Albert Hall in Dec 2002 and 2003, as part of the choirs annual Christmas festival.



In 2003 the group took on a very busy performance schedule including singing before a 7000-strong crowd at Wembley Arena in April, at the UK Barbershop Convention, Glory House Church, Fairfield Halls, Ocean in Hackney amongst many other shows. To culminate what was a very busy year the group put together the finishing touches to their long awaited EP "Christian" as well as a Limited Edition Christmas EP "A Christmas with Blessed Voices".



2004 and 2005 saw Blessed Voices continue with their busy schedule of Church, corporate and private functions as well as television and radio appearances and saw them pick up another major award along the way. This came at the 2005 Gospel Entertainment Music (GEM) Awards when they were announced as winners of the Best Single award ("Relations").



In 2006 Blessed Voices were blessed to be a part of the UK contigent that were invited to minister at the Barbados Gospel Fest 2006 (May 20th-29th). Billed as the Caribbean’s most premier Gospel Event, it featured artists from the USA and Caribbean including Don Moen, Shekinah Glory Ministry, Stitchie and Papa San. The year was capped off by Blessed Voices’ 3rd appearance at the Royal Albert Hall. This was followed by more performances up and down the UK throughout 2007.



Blessed Voices see no boundaries to where their unique sound can take them and their mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in song. As the group members readily admit, God is forever opening doors for them and they are willing to go wherever God sends them!



Blessed Voices are currently working on new material, which will formulate their full debut album.
