Artist Biography: After various line-up changes, an indie rock band from Southern Ontario raised on 90’s CanCon radio hits and 90’s heavy hitters like Third Eye Blind, Radiohead and Marcy Playground, Crossley Hunter settled on naming their band after a back country dirt road. Unknown to the band at the time that the road was named after the 19th-century Southern Ontario evangelist team of Crossley and Hunter, who were popular to the point that they were booked three years in advance. Hugh Crossley was a songwriter, known for singing J.E. Hunter’s sermons to great effect. Inadvertently the band named themselves after a pair of anti-drinking, anti-smoking, and anti-dancing evangelists. Ironic considering the themes covered on the group’s first length self-titled release.
