Blackbird | Glee [HD FULL STUDIO] - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 07, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Blackbird by The Beatles is featured in Original Song, the sixteenth episode of Season Two. It is sung by Kurt with the Warblers as back-up.

Kurt sings this in honor of his canary, Pavarotti, the Warblers' mascot who died suddenly in his cage, presumably by a stroke.

During the song, Blaine realizes that he has very strong feelings for Kurt. Blaine and the rest of the Warblers also decide to let Kurt share a duet with Blaine at Regionals after hearing his version of the song and after Blaine's suggestion. This is the only song of the second season where the Warblers were not voiced by the Tufts University Beelzebubs, but instead by studio singers.

LYRICS:

Kurt:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings, and learn to fly
All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes, and learn to see
All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to be free

Kurt with The Warblers (The Warblers):
Blackbird, fly (Fly)
Blackbird, fly (Fly)
Into the light (Fly) of the dark black night (Blackbird, fly)

(Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh..., uh, uh, uh!)
(Tarara-rara-rara-raararararaaa)

Blackbird, fly (Fly)
Blackbird, fly (Fly)
Into the light (Fly) of the dark black night (Blackbird, fly)

(Uh, uh, uh, uh...)

Kurt:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes, and learn to see
All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
