Filmed before an in-studio television audience "Live at WVIA" features Mays' long-standing trio with bassist Martin Wind and drummer Matt Wilson. Three roaming cameras provide beautiful coverage of the trio at work: Wind's virtuoso pizzicato and arco work, Wilson's wide, unusual array of drums and percussion toys, Mays inside the piano with strings strummed, plucked and muted (for you purists, he also employs the ivories!). This one-hour program includes seven Mays originals, an interview with show host George Graham, and a really outer-limits version of "Darn That Dream"! This is inspired serious fun from one of the most inventive, interactive trios on the scene.
