Bill Deasy is the former lead singer/songwriter of The Gathering Field, whose regional hit "Lost in America" led to a deal with Atlantic Records. Since embarking on a solo career, Deasy has released six records including "Spring Lies Waiting," "Good Day No Rain," "Chasing Down a Spark," "The Miles," "A Different Kind of Wild" and his latest CD, "Being Normal". He also released "The Invisible Ocean" with producer/guitarist Rich Jacques under the moniker Thomas Jefferson's Aeroplane.

Performing Songwriter Magazine says: "He calls to mind Paul Westerberg and many of the finest rock songwriters who mix poetry and drunken bluster, yet somehow sound macho and sensitive at the same time" and All Music Guide suggests that "Sensitive singer/songwriters are a dime a dozen, but really good ones are a rarity. Bill Deasy is the real deal. In a perfect world, you'd already know this."

Deasy tours the country both acoustically and with his band and has appeared as an opening act for artists such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Patty Griffin, John Mellencamp and Norah Jones. His songs have been recorded by a wide array of artists including Howard Jones, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Clarks, Michael Stanley, Kim Richey, One Flew South and Martina McBride. Deasy was featured on national television singing his own song, "Good Things Are Happening," in a national promo for ABC's Good Morning America program for 3 1/2 years. His voice can also be heard on television and radio commercials for Bowser and GNC.

In August of 2006, Bill Deasy added "published author" to his list of accomplishments with the release of his first novel, "Ransom Seaborn", which went on to receive the 2006 Needle Award. His second novel, "Traveling Clothes". was published in late 2009.

Bill has garnered fans in all 50 states and overseas, and while he loves nothing better than to travel and perform, his roots remain imbedded in his hometown of Pittsburgh. He is very proud to have been included in "Pittsburgh Born, Pittsburgh Bred," a book commemorating 500 of the most influential Pittsburghers from the past 250 years.
