It's been 2 years since Ben took that first long walk from the drummers stool to the front of the stage. There's been high's, low's, great achievements, and the occasional car crash.

His 1st solo album Rockin' made people sit up and listen in all corners of the contemporary "Rockin' Roots", scene and beyond. Along with radio, press and live work people have begun to realise there's much more to Ben than meets the eye!

Ben's biography is extensive so here's the condensed version.

Ben forms Restless in nowhere's-ville Suffolk UK in 1979.

Their first show in 1980 is in front of 5 people. The 5 punters phone their freinds to say "there's this great band on" - the venue is packed for the second set.

The next 3 years see the band release 2 seminal Rockin' albums and gives all bands on the circuit a run for their money. Ben has writing credits on all releases.

1984 see's Restless go ballistic. They end the year supporting The Clash, The Ramones, and other big names. They also tour extensively in their own right.

The 80's see the band build a huge cult following with big selling records, extensive touring, and loads more songs by Ben.

By 1990 Ben's had enough, and leaves to try other musical flavours. He gets signed as a songwriter by Rondor Music for a year.

1994 Ben goes back to drums playing with many bands including The Sharks and Frenzy.

1997 Ben has a rest from music (phew).

2002 Restless re-unite playing major festivals worldwide. They support Little Richard on tour and play a Rockin' set with Rock legend Robert Plant. An album is released - Ben writes half the songs.

Ben leaves Restless in 2006 to develop his own Rockin' style. He learns to play live on his own with acoustic guitar/vocals in small clubs.

Late 2007 Ben uploads 4 self penned songs to Myspace. These tunes get a great reaction and spurs Ben on to write a whole album.

2008 Ben gets a band together and plays great shows all over Europe. Ben's debut album Rockin' is released on Cherry Red Records. It gets extensive airplay, and great reviews in the underground and mainstream press.

Late 2008 sees line-up problems and personal tragedies bring the live band to a halt.

Early 2009 sees Ben struggling to keep the band going, temporarily giving up, and becoming a virtual recluse.

Late 2009 Ben fights back! He gets together one show line-up of Ian Jennings (Jeff Beck, Tom Jones) and Aly Day (Wishbone Ash etc).

Friday November 13th 2009 "The Ben Cooper Trio" play The Square and Compass Inn in Somerset UK during a force 9 gale and driving rain. Despite the apocalyptic weather the crowd lap up the spirited performance. Ben is back!

2010 sees Ben form the more permanent line-up of Callum Houston & Marc Vacher, and gets back on the road playing shows in the UK and northern Europe. With a new album in the pipeline, and gigs in the diary things are looking good for "The Ben cooper Trio"!
