Galloway Methodist Church - Memphis, Tennessee - June 2016

In December, 1954, John R. Cash, Marshall Grant, and Luther Perkins stepped into the Galloway Methodist Church on the corner of Cooper and Walker streets in Memphis, Tennessee, to play their first performance together for the Pioneers Club, a ladies church function. The rest, they say, is history.

Almost 62 years later, we got a sneak peak as renovations begin for a cafe/museum dedicated to the memory of the man in black. It was hot and muggy, just as a Memphis June should be, and this covert, imperfect, impromptu performance of "Over With" is one of two we caught on video here.
