MODONUT 2 Friends Remixes : 5 tracks remixed by the friends of Modo & Mac Beer It starts off strong with a remix of the "Modonut 2" feature single "Diggin' in the Crates", with the lyrical talent of New York based rapper F. STOKES on this remix by COLONA, with the muscular sounds of pop that have us forgetting the violins in the original version. Colona is the beatmaker/producer behind the instrumental album "L'Armata di l'ombra", and more recently "Countdown to Napalm", the latter a collaboration with Brotherhood 603 and with huge featurings like Vastaire (Cannibal Ox & Smooth da Hustler).
The second remix, with oriental flavouring a la Jay-Dilla'esque, "Genius" featuring JUNCLASSIC
(Monsta Island Czars) are orchestrated by BLANKA, the DJ/beatmaker from La Fine Equipe, and co-producer of "La Boulangerie 1 & 2", and most recently "Gremlins EP". BLANKA is also founded the project JUKEBOX CHAMPIONS, with FADE who is the beatmaker of A.S.M. (the rappers of Wax Tailor).
"Loop Providers" featuring CRAIG G., the mythical rapper from the 90's, gets an elegant remix by MR GIB on an SP12. MR GIB is a beatmaker/Hip-Hop DJ hailing from La Fine Equipe, and is the owner and sound engineer at "Studio 1,2 Pass it".
We continue with Who Is This? featuring PSYCHO LES from the BEATNUTS, remixed by MR. STROKE, who infuses a very New York-esque sound into the track. MR. STROKE might be a young beatmaker, but he has more talent than years, as his track record proves: collab's with Shabaam Sahdeeq, Rust Juxx from the Duckdown crew, and the frenchy Ali (Lunatic). MR. Stroke debuts with his first full album in october, Real In The Field, a project featuring the lyrical talent of DRO PESCI.
We finish with Safe in Sound, a track that has the lush vocals of Danish born ASTRID ENGBERG. This massive track from Modonut 2 (play listed on Radio Nova, FIP, Le Mouv...) is audaciously remixed by HOOSKY. The duo of beatmakers from the electro/hip-hop scene OOGO & CHOMSKY are also members of the original LA FINE EQUIPE, producers behind La Boulangerie 1 & 2, and the Gremlins EP, Just a Lil' Beat (which saw its Rush Hour play listed on Radio Nova), Night Town EP, Fakear, CM Jones... all from their label NOWADAY RECORDS. - BEATSQUEEZE
