The Beatardz are a songwriting and production team that consist of Claytone and AweDAMn. Over the last year they have received attention globally from A & R’s accross America, Asia, Austrailia and the UK. Most recently a song called “Under”, which was produced and Co-written by the Beatardz, was released on Japanese sensation Kumi Koda’s record (Kingdom) on January 30th, 2008. The record scanned half a million copies in the first 4 days, not only making it the 1 record in Asia, but was the largest selling record in the world for that week. With projected sales of around 2 million copies, a major KOSE cosmetic add campaign featuring “Under” and the video for “Under” that airing on MTV Asia on January 12th, 2008 has started out with a bang.
The Beatardz quickly broke ground in America. After being approached by Island/Mercury, DefJam, Columbia and EPIC records out of NYC to write and produce for establised and up and coming artists the future looks bright.
Over the past year alone the Beatardz have penned songs with some of the most established writers in the world, including: Curtis Richardson (Joss Stone, J-Lo, Rihanna, Craig David), Erika Nuri (Fantasia), Justin Gray (Joss Stone, Alex Parks), Luke McMaster (Rihanna, Nick Lachey), Charlene Guilliam (Rihanna, Kumi Koda), Tiki Hemingway (Usher, Kumi Koda) and The Berman Brothers (Hanson).
As songwriters and producers the Beatardz are making their mark in the music industry. Their unique capabilities as multi-talented producers, songwriters, programmers and musicians who play all of their own instruments (including guitar, piano, bass guitar) put them clearly on their way to elite status.
