Something

Baby, I could’ve been better
Maybe I should’ve told the truth
Lately I’ve found a reason to keep on living
These hollow days without you
Every campfire all I see is faces
Of everyone I left behind
Seems to me that number keeps getting greater
And I don’t really seem to mind

Baby I could be something like Bob Dylan
A tambourine man who sings across the land
Baby I’m gonna be something like Bob Dylan
Take the risk, or lose your chance

Look in the mirror at my imperfections
I see everything I could’ve been
Maybe a teacher, carpenter, or husband
All I see is somebody floating in the wind
I find it kinda funny I still dream of mountains
The prairie skies have filled my soul
Can’t call anywhere my home
Cause the open road calls me its own

Baby I could be something like John Lennon
Imagine all the people I will meet
Baby I’m gonna be something like John Lennon
Take the risk, or lose your chance

Don’t count on it.
Don’t count on anything but the time you were given to live.
Don’t count on it.
Don’t count on anything but the time you were given to live.

Baby I could be something like Jim Morrison
Ride the storm with my bare feet
Baby I’m gonna be something like Jim Morrison
Take the risk, or lose your chance
