My name is "JR" and I am from Greensboro, North Carolina.
My favorite teams are all Carolina teams, Go Panthers and Aggies,
When I started trying to play bass, the cats that was helping me were really to busy with their own bands. They let me sit in there re-hearsals and always told me to listen! Also I am not a professional bassist, I just like to play alot :-).
MYspace has help me tremulously, I have not only talk with people like Marcus Miller, Nathan East, Jeff Corallini, Richard Bona, Jackie Clark, JRoss and my new Myspace brother Mr. Hudson on Bass. I have meet Bass Players all over the world!
There are bass players I have never heard of, so that is one of my goals with Myspace. I am going to meet all bass players at all levels of play!
Okay the broken hand thing is behind me now, the wrist is a little stiff, but the will to play is still there!
Playing bass is a serious hobby, So I know the pain an practice sessions the "BassPlayers on my site and the ones that are not, put in to be great players! So on that note lets Live to play, not playing to live!
A lot of bassist ask me about how can they select a proper bass guitar, if you look at my PIC's you will notice that my BABIES or some what reasonable in price? I found this article that sums it all up! All basses work the same, whether they are conventional or radical in style.
You want a bass that balances well on your shoulder, isn't too heavy, and has the right look and sound for the kind of music you play. The most important thing about the look of a bass is that you like it. The more it fits you and your music, the more you'll play and enjoy it.
The starter bassist should realize that in recent years, many very affordable "starter" basses have become available. Many of these are very playable. They aren't as elaborately finished as more expensive basses.
That's The Way Of The World
They will have pickups and hardware of lesser quality yet they are quite playable and will take you through the early stages of learning to play the bass. For players uncertain of their talent or sustained interest, these lower-cost instruments let them give bass a try without a big investment. If you are more sure that your interest will be long term, it might be better to go a little higher in price and quality. You won't outgrow the instrument too quickly, and an intermediate bass can also make the learning process a little easier.
Now I have some serious BASSPLAYERs on this site, for the new player listen to them an practice hard, And while you're in mySpace it's time to just chill out and listen to the smooth jazz sounds of my friends, and my band. As I alway say. There are just so many great Bass Players on this site!!! "Cool Cool"!
