DESCRIPTION:
And I thought Kenje was a mystery... What I know about this one I could put in a thimble and have room for a cup of coffee. Okay, here's what I do know. The artist is Baby Ray and the song came out on the Imperial Record label. That's IT! I don't know where he's from or where he is now. I don't know how old he is (or was). I don't know when the song came out or who wrote it. I don't know who performed it with him. The only other thing I do know is he was/is EXTREMELY talented. Any help that could shed some light on this mystery would be GREATLY appreciated.
Lyrics: The House On Soul Hill
by ???
Baby these arms ain't long enough to hold you no more
(Listen to me baby)
The flame's burnt out I don't thrill you like I did before
(Hey hey)
Don't you know I love you still
It's gonna hurt to move from our house on soul hill baby
What went wrong to make you turn your back on me
(Tell me baby)
I gave you everything I had but you could't see
(No ya couldn't baby)
There I would love you until
The world fell down on our house on soul hill baby
(Oh yeah..)
There's just one thing I wanna say before I pack and go
(Listen to me)
You better have a new lock put on your front door now
(Hey hey yeah)
'Cuz your love was such a thrill
I might wander back to our house on soul hill one night
(Yeah... might wander back)
(Yeah... to that little old shack)
