Barry Gray was one of Britain's most talented composers of television music and as such, maybe he's a bit of an "outsider" here on this channel of orchestral and lounge music. We said "maybe" ..... because if you listen to this hauntingly beautiful piece it sure "does not sound like it wouldn't belong here" :-) Television fans of the 'more mature category' ;-) will definitely recognize that what is being played here is the famous "Thunderbirds" theme but in a 'romanticized' way. "Thunderbirds" was a successful puppet animation series in the 1960's, produced by Gerry Anderson. In fact, Anderson and Gray worked together on other well known TV series such as "UFO", "Stingray" and "Space 1999". So what we have here too, is a great piece of "youth sentiment" as well, especially for those who can remember those exciting years, when people "stayed at home at night to watch their favourite TV show"! But now, ..... we're offering you a "Passport to Paradise" with the Barry Gray Orchestra and the relaxing "Tracy's Island theme". Enjoy !
