Determination, diligence, and hip-hop ingenuity is what has put Mike “Banger” Cadahia on the map.
After years of sitting behind boards for countless internships and pro-bono projects, he
now stands alongside the strongest team in the world of hip-hop, Young Money. Mike Banger has
excelled to be one of the industry’s youngest and most innovative producers, recording engineers, and mixers.
Banger spent his early teen years behind a drum set, playing for several bands and often
free-styling or beat-boxing with local crews. He soon invested in drum machines, keyboards, and recording equipment. He meticulously studied manuals while experimenting with each piece of gear teaching himself how to produce, mix, and record. In 2003, before finishing high school, Mike landed his first internship at a local South Florida studio, Audacity Recordings. Within a year Banger became
Head Engineer as well as produced the University of Miami’s “All About The U” campaign
anthem beat. On his downtime during the late night he stayed at the studio perfecting his production skills often being awoken from the couch by post production commercial clients in the mornings.
Although the corporate projects kept him busy, it wasn’t enough. In 2005 he began interning
nights at Poe Boy Entertainment and then landed yet even another internship working weekends at Studio Center, two of South Florida’s elite recording facilities. He spent the next two years working on
projects with Rick Ross, Jacki-O, Brisco, Pleasure P, Curren$y, Trick Daddy, The D.E.Y., Tara
Reid, Matt Damon, Deborah Cox, Thalia, and many more. Despite his busy work schedule
Banger was in the middle of a transition. The cutthroat politics of the music industry and non-
stop schedule of unfulfilling sessions caused him to rebelliously isolate himself and strengthen his craft immensely.
In the midst of his self-induced, production-addicted binge, he received a phone call
that catapulted his career. He was invited to engineer for one of the hardest working and
successful rap superstars, Lil Wayne. Mike Banger was immediately introduced to the
fast-paced, non-stop world of Young Money, full of back-to-back recording sessions,
worldwide tours, and coast-to-coast studio time. He spent virtually everyday prior to Lil
Wayne’s incarceration focusing on tracking all their material, and has since worked
every other Young Money artist including Jae Millz, Cory Gunz, Gudda, Mack Maine, T Streets, Lil Twist, Shanell, Tyga, Lil Chuckee, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Birdman. Additionally Banger mixed and produced on Lil Wayne’s release I Am Not A Human Being, while he was in prison.
Equipped with high profile production, recording, and mixing credits, Mike Banger is proving he
is a talent powerhouse. With production placements on many upcoming projects and a
desirable sound, he is undoubtedly an emerging force in the music industry.
