Sound Bite Concert Series - BK One and Friends (2014) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 27, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Renowned DJ and Rhymesayers Entertainment recording artist BK-One performs on McNally Smith College of Music's campus for the final Sound Bite Series concert of the 2013--14 season. The exuberant event featured a host of special guests, including a trio of fellow Rhymesayers artists, a dance collective lead by B-Boy J Sun, and a special, show-culminating collaboration with several students from McNally Smith's Brass and Woodwinds program.

Highlights include a 3-way throw down between master emcees Brother Ali, Toki Wright (McNally Smith's Hip-Hop Studies Dept. Head), and I Self Devine, an interview with 89.3 The Current's Dave Campbell, and a behind-the-scenes look at BK-One working with the McNasty Brass Band on interpreting his 2009 hit "Tema Do Canibal" — as well as working up a pair of brand new tracks written in collaboration with Scott Agster (Brass and Woodwinds faculty) and McNally Smith's students exclusively for this special event.
