Backyard Studios Arnsberg - Video

DESCRIPTION:
In Germany are many musicians as well as music-fans. Music is an important pillar of communication in our society, of cultural togetherness and an inherent part of each and every party.
Unfortunately, many of the city constitutions that made it possible for musicians to evolve, to rehearse and along with that, to fulfill themself, shut down over the last years.

I have been active in the german music scene for many years and always felt, that the musicians here have been left alone, while I was able to experience, that in scandinavian countries were several associations that helped musicians in different music genres and other creative folks. These associations were always on hand with word and deed.

I have hardly been able to find such projects in Germany. If I found them at all, they have only been in census metropolitan areas.

I was born in Arnsberg, Germany. The situation is the same here. I want to entrench the backyard studios from here all over Germany and run the demographic change in the province into a new direction.

Except of sports, there were no other extracurricular activities offered for young people. With my enormous researches I found out that communities support sports in and around the city I live in, but artistic leanings have been put into second place. Not everyone wants to play soccer or something like that in their free time.

This aberration led many artist to leave Arnsberg and move to the, how we call it „Ruhrpott“, Paderborn or other cities and shows that the music scene here has an enormous recruiting problem.
Nearly everybody from my friends and acquaintances, who is a musician or has a band, has moved to different cities like Dortmund, Essen and other surrounding cities.

The reason is always the same „Every other band has left. There is nothing incentive to stay here.“

„The scene is damaged here, in the „Ruhrpott“ is a lot more going on, music-
wise. In Arnsberg is no one doing anything for us. “

I decided to leave Arnsberg myself and move to Berlin, since Arnsberg lacked the opportunities to make music. Music always will and always has been, same as for my girlfriend, the biggest part in life.

That is, where my idea sets in. The backyard studios shall be a mix musicalic home, cultural meeting point and youth empowerment. The backyard studios are supposed to offer rooms for young musicians as well as established musicians to prepare for studio sessions and performances. It is supposed to be a place, where music brings people together.

The mix of young people and established musicians will lead to a brisk exchange of experiences, witty anecdotes out of a musicians life as well as one or another jam session.

My team and I want to arouse young people’s interest in music and combat the recruiting problem. Within the frame of the backyard Studios I want to offer my support to young bands and help them with their first steps on stage.

This will take place with musically coachings, as well as every issue concerning merchandising/promotion and bookings. It is utterly important to demonstrate and urge young people, that handmade music is fun, not uncool as many of the teenagers think. I want to bring them away from the classic cramming for grades and want to lead them the way to simply „rock on “.

My wide amount of contacts in the germany-wide music industry gives me the opportunity to even invite well-known experts for workshops.
