AWAKE

AWAKE s'est formé fin 2004, en Charente Maritime, aprés la rencontre de Dan et Poly, les 2 guitaristes. Le tout premier line-up fut completé avec l'arrivée de Tibo à la batterie, puis d'Aliénore à la basse. Trés vite, les concerts s'enchainent, ( le 3ème concert d'Awake était en première partie de Shane Cough!!), et les prestations s'améliorent. En 2005, le groupe s'installe à Poitiers, et y gagne 2 tremplins ( Tremplin de l'asso Rocktambul: achat de matériel, et Tremplin de l'AME : 1ère partie des Fils de Theupu). Durant l'été 2006, Kylie intègre le groupe à la basse, aprés le départ d'Aliénore, et l'occasion d'enregistrer des morceaux se présente. AWAKE repart avec une maquette de 8 titres. Finalement , en automne 2006, le groupe s'installe à Rennes, où Tibo poursuit ses études. Au début de l'année suivante, AWAKE remporte le tremplin de l'association AJT, soit une aide au pressage du 1er CD. Pour le visuel de son futur Ep, le groupe lance un concours d'artwork sur son site, et fait donc la connaissance de Yomikata, étudiant en photographie, dont le travail a mis tout le monde d'accord. S'en suit alors une collaboration, qui vise à intensifier l'image du groupe. Yomikata devient alors, et de manière logique, un ami, et le photographe officiel du groupe. Puis Tibo décide de partir, et AWAKE restera sans batteur durant plusieurs mois. Afin de sortir son 1er Ep, AWAKE fait appel au studio "Le Grenier", pour le mixage et le mastering, et c'est finalement 7 titres sur les 8 qui seront retenus. Le premier effort du groupe est tiré à 1000 exemplaires, et est disponible depuis aout 2007.



Oscillant entre ses influences, AWAKE propose un univers qui lui est propre, et un son toujours mitigé entre la rage et la douceur, le plaisir et la douleur.

Toujours motivés à conquérir les scènes, et à partager sa musique, AWAKE est actuellement à la recherche d'un label.

.ENGLISH BIOGRAPHY:



AWAKE was formed in 2004, with the meeting of Dan and Poly, both guitarists. The first line up ever was completed with the arrival of Tibo at the drums, and Aliénore at the bass. Very quickly, they make more and more concerts ( the 3rd concert of AWAKE was with Shane Cough!!!) and their live performances improve. In 2005, the band settle in Poitiers and wins 2 "Battle of the bands" ( money for musical equipment, and a concert with a professional band). During summer 2006, Kylie join the band as a bassist, cause Aliénore decides to leave. Then, an opportunity to record arise, so they decide to record 8 songs. Finally, in Fall 2006, AWAKE settle in Rennes, where Tibo continues studying. At the beginning of the next year, they win another "Battle of the band" : a financial help to make the first CD. AWAKE decides to make a competition on their official website for the artwork of their future Ep, and that's how they meet Yomikata, a photography student whose work made unanimity. They decide to collaborate, in order to intensify the image of the band. Then Yomikata become, and in a logical way, a friend and the official AWAKE photographer. But a couple of month later, Tibo decides to leave, and AWAKE stay without drummer for a long period. But the future Ep has to get out anyway, so they work with "Le Grenier" studio for the mix and the mastering, and the Ep is finally composed by 7 tracks instead of the 8 plannified. Only 1,000 copies are produce, and the first AWAKE's Ep is available since August 2007.



Swinging between their influences, AWAKE propose its own universe, and a music always torned between rage and sweetness, pleasure and pain. With its motivation to conquer stages, and share its music, AWAKE is looking for a label company.
