SHP3 Amp Video Tour pt 2 of 4 - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Seeburg SHP3 Amplifier Tour part 2 of 4. In this video we look at the driver board and the inside of the chassis. Watch as I visually inspected this recently purchased amp that I pulled out of a 1973 Seeburg SPS2 Matador Jukebox. The SHP3 is the last amplifier produced before Seeburg closed its doors. If you are familiar with the older Tube type jukebox amplifiers but not the SHP then you should enjoy seeing the technology changes.

This SHP3 is almost 100% original from the Seeburg factory which is very unusual for a 40 year old jukebox amplifier. Only 3 parts were replaced: 1 output transistor and 2 electrolytic capacitors. I was surprised to see this amp in very clean condition with no nightclub cigarette tar & nicotine film. No evidence of mice or mud dobbers. No charred spots on the board. No blown out leaking capacitors. So I took videos. After this 3 part video tour I then plugged the SHP amp into a Sunstar to see if the amp works. I shot video as I went - no script on any of my videos - just rambling as I go. I used a dim bulb tester and then plugged it in and turned it on.

I am not a Seeburg expert nor repair tech. It's a hobby so I don't use all the correct Seeburg terminology.

Technology will continue to change how we listen to music but Jukeboxes never go out of style.
