DESCRIPTION:
This is a new song that I wrote called Austerity; targeting the implications austerity has on the impoverished sectors of our country. After the recent General Election, it saddened me to see that austerity was to continue in excessive measures. The inspiration for this song came whilst observing a small street in South Shields from a coffee shop, seeing people my own age searching in bins for spare cigarettes or any scraps that were edible. The difference between myself and those individuals is that I am fortunate enough to have opportunity to really make the most of education, whereas they don't. With excessive cuts, this opportunity is slipping further and further away.
