Wax Idols
2012-05-11
The Make-Out Room
San Francisco CA

Footage shot with a Canon EOS T2i with 1.8f/50mm lens, audio synchronized with Olympus LS-5 portable flash-based recorder placed sticking up over the edge of a box of 'No Future' records at the merch booth.

This is a first edition rough cut incorporating a crash edit of all my footage, composited in iMovie. Audio recording was synchronized with the digital camera sound track (-24dB) using Adobe Audition 1.5.

The return of Wax Idols for their Suicide Squeeze 7" record release party at the Make-Out Room on 22nd St. a half block up from Mission. I missed the last show at the Knockout back on 3/30 due to a really bad cold which sidelined me for the entire week, so I didn't get to see the first performance of Schadenfreude, which here they graced with a false start, but otherwise were completely on mission (no pun intended) and delivered yet another 30 minutes of auralgasms to the several dozen or so people left that didn't decide to attend AT&T Park to see that tosser Roger Waters reenact "The Wall". I had to head out soon afterwards to attend Dean Wareham and wife Britta Phillips reenact Galaxie 500, so didn't stay for the after-party. On the way out, I did get a chance to meet producer Monte "RuminatorSF" Vallier, of Swell and Half Church fame, which was really cool. Special thanks go to Phil Benson for being his usual gracious self in helping out the group with merch, I bought a tote bag and black vinyl 7" of their new single, as I had already received the turquoise via mail order.

If you want to see different footage from Nakoeth, which shows off the awesome projections from Tooth much better than my POV:

If you're not afraid of Bittorrent trackers and the FLAC format, I do have the complete audio recording here, which is the only way to hear a live version of that long german word song: http://incubation.atmyheels.com/torrents-details.php?id=95
