ASM - A State of Mind

ASM gained international fame from their collaborative singles with Wax Tailor: ‘POSITIVELY INCLINED’ & ‘SAY YES’, which appeared on the albums ‘Hope & Sorrow’ and ‘In The Mood For Life.’ Their record sales have exceded 100,000 copies and their track ‘Positively Inclined’ appeared on the soundtrack for the game NBA live ‘09 which sold over 2 Million copies worldwide. They have toured all over Europe with Wax Tailor including sold out shows at l’Olympa in Paris, Solidays Festival, Francofolies Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Garorock Festival, Hip Hop Kemp Festival, and a recent performance on TARATATA on France 2.
Their debut album “PLATYPUS FUNK” was released in 2010 and was celebrated by press, radio and fans alike. The album’s features list reads as a testament to the inspirations and companions that ASM encountered on their path. They include Wax Tailor, Dj Vadim (BBE Music), Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Wildchild (Stones Throw), Kid Kanevil (Firstword), Bonobo (Tru-Thoughts) and Mr Mattic (Wax Tailor crew) & more.
ASM’s live show moves effortlessly between Funk, Hip Hop and Reggae and they have been compared in their sound to the likes of Jurassic 5, The Pharcyde, People Under The Stairs, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. Principally composed of multi-national lyricists Green-T and FP, as well as MPC-wizard Fade, the ASM Platypus crew extends to include 6ix Toys Mack-Hi and Pow-Lo on Saxophone and Trombone, Ludivine Issambourg on Flute, and an array of other special guests when possible.
ASM have toured extensively over the past 3 years at venues and festivals throughout Europe. With over 200 shows under their belt they are easily considered one of the top European Hip Hop acts touring today.
