Greatest Assamese Borgeet is an exclusive collection from our North East India. Assamese Borgeets are a collection of lyrical songs that are set to specific ragas. in the 15th-16th centuries, these songs, composed by Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavdeva and these songs are used to begin prayer services in monasteries associated with the Ekasarana Dharma; and they also belong to the repertoire of Music of Assam outside the religious context. They are a lyrical strain that express the religious sentiments of the poets reacting to different situations.
The album “Bhokoti Amiya” is the select collection of Devotional Songs of Assam or the Assamese Borgeets. Bornali Kalita and Mousam Gogoi rendered this heart touching Devotional Songs for the music lovers of Assam. The compilation also showcases some of the great creations of composers like Shankardeva and Madhabdeva. Also it contains some Evergreen Assamese Devotional Songs like “Oisana Mohana” and “Gopale Ki Goti”.
