There was a time KT Tunstall was considering leaving the music business altogether. Professionally, the “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See” singer/songwriter felt burnt out, and was handed two big personal blows: her father passed away and she got divorced. Longing to get away from it all, she moved to SoCal to search her soul, and pursued a career in writing music for film. But, something happened along the way. She began to feel inspired again, and the result is arguably the best album she’s ever released.
KIN came out last month, and it features uptempo tracks like “Maybe It’s a Good Thing” and the anthemic “Hard Girls.” At the Gibson Showroom in New York City last month, Tunstall performed both songs and sat down for an intimate A-Sides chat.
