Born in Rio de Janeiro on 17 June 1945, Arthur Verocai began his professional music career in 1969 and over the next few years he was responsible for the orchestration of somgers Ivan Lins, Jorge Benjor, Elizeth Cardoso, Gal Costa, Quarteto em Cy, MPB 4, Celia, Erasmo Carlos, O Terço and Marcos Valle, among others. In the 1970s he was hired by Brazil’s biggest TV station, TV Globo, as musical director and wrote the arrangements for many of the stations biggest shows. Following the success Arthur had with the production of Ivan Lins 1971 album "Agora" , Arthur recorded his self-titled debut album on Continental Records. ‘Arthur Verocai’ challenged the musical conventions of the day, combining Brazilian influences with folksy soul and lo-fi electronic experimentations of American artists like Shuggie Otis or the orchestration of producer Charles Stepney.
Nascido no Rio de Janeiro em 17 junho 1945, Arthur Côrtes Verocai começou sua carreira profissional na música em 1969 e já nos anos seguintes era responsável pelas orchestrações dos albums de: Ivan Lins, Jorge Benjor, Elizeth Cardoso, em Quarto em Cy, Gal Costa,Célia, Erasmo Carlos, O Terço, MPB 4 e Marcos Valle, entre outros. Nos anos 1970 foi contratado pela TV Globo, como o diretor musical de programas e escreveu os arranjos para muitos shows , novelas, musicais, etc. Seguindo o sucesso, Arthur teve participação na produção dos albuns de Ivan Lins 1971 "Agora",1972 "Deixa o trem seguir", 1974 "Modo Livre". Arthur fez seu primeiro album na gravadora Continental quando desafiou as convenções musicais do época, combinando influências brasileiras com a alma folksy e as experimentações baixo-lo-fi eletrônicas de artistas americanos como Shuggie Otis ou a orquestração do produtor Charles Stepney.
