ARKAN was born in May 2005 from the meeting between Abder (former member of Dawn of Decline) and Foued (former member of The Old Dead Tree) with a common goal : to mix "Metal" in the broadest sense and oriental music, a harmonious musical journey between the south and north.
To support them, Mus and Samir (former members of Worth - Algerian band of Death Metal) and Florent (former member of Whisper-X) joined them. Quickly they release their first auto produced MCD : Burning Flesh is born. A concentrate of violence, twenty minutes of pure Death Metal Chahbi mixed and other Eastern moods.
For several months, the band climbed on stage to promote its 1st opus with many bands (Decapitated, Dagoba, No Return, Hacride…) in various venues (Scene Bastille, La Maroquinerie, Le Batofar, The Forum…). At the same time ARKAN was preparing its first album, pushing the elements of Burning Flesh to their limits: metal riffs with Arabic moods with more aggressive parts, more exotic atmospheric climax, careful integration of oriental instruments (Oûd, Mandola, Derbouka, Bendir, Cajon, Tabla, Bouzouki), traditional oriental male and female voices.
The album "Hilal" was recorded at Studio Fredman produced by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, Septic Flesh, At The Gates…) and mastered at Hansen Studio by Jacob Hansen (Hatesphere, Aborted, Volbeat…), it enjoys a sharp production, skillfully putting forward the different colors and moods of the work.
The band has released its album in Europe and the USA in collaboration with Season Of Mist and Evil Campbell Design.
ARKAN enjoys endorsement agreements with major brands of instruments (Mapex, Mayones, Meinl, Aquarian, Laboga, Vater) and large retail musical stores (La Baguetterie, My Music).

ARKAN naît en mai 2005 de la rencontre entre Abder (ex-Dawn of Decline) et Foued (ex-The Old Dead Tree) qui se retrouvent autour d’un projet commun : unir dans un même groupe «Metal » au sens large et musique orientale, harmonieux voyage musical entre le sud et le nord.
Pour les épauler, Mus et Samir (anciens membres de Worth – groupe algérien de Death Metal) et Florent (ex-Whisper-X) les rejoignent. Très rapidement leur premier MCD auto produit, Burning Flesh voit le jour. Un condensé de violence, vingt minutes de pur Death Métal mêlées de «Chahbi» et autres ambiances orientales.
Pendant plusieurs mois, le groupe monte sur scène défendre son 1er opus avec de nombreux groupes (Decapitated, Dagoba, No Return, Hacride…) et sur diverses scènes (La Scène Bastille, La Maroquinerie, Le Batofar, Le Forum…). En parallèle, ARKAN prépare son 1er album, dont l’essence est l’exacerbation de tous les ingrédients de Burning Flesh: des riffs métalo-orientaux, des parties extrêmes plus accentuées, des parties atmosphériques plus enivrantes, l’intégration soignée d’instruments d’orients (Oûd, Mandola, Derbouka, Bendir, Cajon, Tabla, Bouzouki), des chants aériens (voix masculines et féminines).
L’album "Hilal" enregistré au Studio Fredman est produit par Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, Septic Flesh, At The Gates…) et masterisé au Hansen Studio par Jacob Hansen (Hatesphere, Aborted, Volbeat…), il bénéficie d’une production soignée, mettant habilement en avant les couleurs et les différentes ambiances de l’oeuvre.
En collaboration avec Season Of Mist et Evil Campbell Design, le groupe a sorti son album en Europe et aux USA.
ARKAN bénéficie d’accords d’endorsements avec de grandes marques d’instruments (Mapex, Meinl, Aquarian, Laboga, Vater, Mayones), et de grandes chaînes de distribution musicale (La baguetterie, My Music).
