Monday Rose Short Biography:

All across the world, fans and critics have been going wild for Monday Rose. Hearing the music is one thing, but to go see the band live who's been compared to mixes of U2, Aerosmith, Kings of Leon, and other giants of the rock world, has been called a "mind shocking event" that "is more like a great party with great friends than a performance" and "no matter how hard you try you can't not fall completely in love" with and "leaves you wondering if you should have been taken out to dinner first."
The name Monday Rose stems from the word Montrose, the boat on which ARi's great grandfather arrived upon his escape from Nazi Poland. The name symbolizes daring decisions, conquering a fear of the unknown, awareness of one's surroundings, and refusing to be brought down by the people who want to bring you down the most. It is a name that represents standing strong and sticking to your beliefs. It is a name that represents never forgetting where you came from, and not being afraid to say “this is not right”. It is about integrity and good will, passion and bravery, and most importantly, it is a name that represents survival.
Monday Rose was built on passion. Lead singer/ lyricist ARi Lyon had a love affair with music that he was compelled to follow through. Out of curiosity for how far he could take some of his songs, ARi recorded his first demo, began playing small shows in folk cafes and quickly started gaining recognition around the city.
One year later ARi met Randy Starr (guitars, vocals) through a mutual friend. Astonished by each other’s originality and passion, the two quickly began to play together. Soon, ARi called old friend and bass player Matt Pasquale to come jam and the trio immediately fell together. Now needing a drummer, one day ARi and Matt fatefully stopped by a Subway sandwhich shop and in a brief conversation with the guy behind the counter, discovered he was a drummer. Inviting who turned out to be Ira Schwartz to come to their house and play sometime, the four quickly completed the band making the powerhouse they now are. Now, wherever Monday Rose plays, they gain respect and popularity.
The band then released their first EP, a record which carries a huge buzz for their fans and was recorded in the legendary Bob Ezrin’s (Pink Floyd, KISS, Alice Cooper, Nine Inch Nails,) recording studio with his partner and friend, Brian Moncarz (The Junction – Universal Music, Rise Electric – EMI Publishing, Pilot Speed – Maple Music). They are currently working with producer Eddie Schwartz (The Doobie Brothers, wrote Hit Me With Your Best Shot for Pat Benatar).
An ordinary week starts with Monday. An extraordinary life starts with Monday Rose.
Come join the lovers.
