DESCRIPTION:
A piece I wrote for a one-act play of the same name that was intended for street performances and small venues. The musical part was to be performed by me as a one-man band (as it is in this video). A traveling troupe took interest in this musical play and will be presenting it in Philly, NYC and LA early next year in some of the larger venues. They are expanding everything (bird costumes, dividing sections into acts, extending the length of the play, and want me to write additional music). With all of the changes and additions I will likely not be performing this piece as they are looking to work with local musicians in each city they visit. However I may be performing this in its original form in the Philly area with local troupes.

Here are the sections and their meanings:

1) Boasting Birds - when you can fly like they do, you might brag a little to each other

2) Aggravation, Discord, Agreement - they usually work out their differences but it can be a bit rough sometimes

3) Let's Party - birds love to have fun in groups

4) Monkey Sandwich - that's what they think when they see a planeload of humans

5) Wake-up Call - time for the flock to go and the signal is given

6) Flight of the Free Birds - what humans have been admiring for thousands of years
