This brilliant collection of 3 Preludes were written as a follow up to composer, Llywelyn ap Myrddin's, debut release on WW Records, Sakura. Preludes is another exhilarating collaboration between Llywelyn and Steinway Artist, Aisa Ijiri, who’s transfixing Piano performances are unforgettable. Recorded at Steinway Hall, London, on their Steinway D model piano, this record is marked with class.
The first prelude, 'The Cave', deals with life’s ups and downs. Just when it seems like things are at their darkest we look up and see a shard of light.
The second prelude, 'Yoko's Car', is inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding Kyoto.
The final prelude, 'Shinjuku', was written after a trip to Tokyo, hearing the jazz played in cafes and bars through the night – Llywelyn ap Myrddin, 2015.
The Three Preludes had their premier performance in Kyoto, as part of the 2015 Biwako Art Festival (Sponsored by Shiga Bank),
The suite of three Preludes is accompanied by a trio of electronic impressions by WW Artists, Old Man Diode & Guy Wampa with a guest appearance from one of the U.K’s finest producers Kidkanevil. The remixes are bold and courageous exploring new sonic territory and new world landscapes. This is a magnificent package, ethereal and poignant.
