DESCRIPTION:
Short documentary of Anisa Hayes and Sam Kenny, two West Michigan folk singer/songwriters whose unusual musical techniques -- and new approaches to the creative processes of songwriting and performance -- are changing the shape of the local music scene. This video presents a vision of artists bringing their personal or "home" lives and identities to the stage, by daring to be authentic and sincere in their performances. Produced by Kasey Jean Wondergem; and screened at West Michigan's Chiaroscuro international film series, hosted by the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (Grand Rapids, Mich.), in April 2009.
