וְאֵין אַיִל
בַּסְּבַךְ רַק אָנוּ וְהֵם
וְהַצְּבִי עַל בָּמוֹתֵינוּ,
וּבְלִבֵּנוּ חָלָל.

וְכָל אֵם
תִּשָּׂא תְּחִנָּה
אֵלָיו, יָדְךָ אַל תִּשְׁלַח.

The poem, written by Jiwchar Ganor, is based on biblical references to Isaiah's prophecy (Isaiah, chapter 2), to the story of the Binding of Isaac (Genesis, Chapter 22), and to David's lament (2 Samuel, Chapter 1).

Lesson is not learned -
Another war.

And there is no ram
