Young the Giant's video for the song 'Amerika' from the In The Open series.

Amerika is one of the first songs we wrote for Home of the Strange, and was subsequently one of our first releases. Based off Kafka's unfinished novel, Amerika is the story of an immigrant who finds himself both enthralled and spurned by the American Dream. This is also my story. I am the son of immigrants, and our family finds this dream simultaneously on the tip of our tongues and impossibly intangible every single day. In the wake of this election outcome, we feel that this song, in one of those rare moments of prophesy, has even more to say now than when it was first released. Regardless of where we may all stand, we are all searching for home, and want to feel heard; feel like we belong. We hope our story reaches you. Share yours, so we can all better understand the true tapestry of America; so we can all find renewed faith in the land we all call home
