This is a recording of a recording of an impromtu kind of "rehearsal" that happened after I had given my students a lesson in a 600+ seat symphony hall. Listen to the echo. The baritone had gone up into the seats to watch the soprano's lesson. After he lesson he stood up from the seats and started to sing the duet with her. So she was still on the stage and he was facing her from the audience. The person who recorded this was behind the baritone outside the door of the hall. At the end you hear the baritone start walking towards the stage with his back still to the recording device. Then he turns toward the soprano, facing the side of the stage. Never facing the mic. These are older students who are more advanced and have been with me for years. There are musical mistakes and they forgot some words, but it was random. They were working on learning the duet. And it is acapella.
