Over beats ranging from soulful old school, to hip hop breakbeats, to pounding club bangers, to beautifully terrible classical samples he weaves a lyrical style both picturesque and livid. His sound is an eclectic mix of seemingly incompatible styles such as hip hop, classical, soul, punk, alternative, rock, folk, etc. that somehow blend perfectly. While traditionally listeners have had to choose between the virtues of the underground emcee or the commerical rapper, Altaire transcends that divide with a fresh and new style the likes of which has never been seen in hip hop.



From the age of 13 Altaire was obsessed with hip hop, the art form filling a wound where most place love, family, relationships. His first endeavor under the independent label Fireface Records was a self-promoted single titled "I.S.M." in 1997, followed by three more singles, "oneinthisgame"(2002), "icarus"(2003) and "altaireonthetrack"(2006), and the widely acclaimed mixtape "Death By Design"(2006). Hungrily performing at shows around Detroit, LA, NY, Seattle, Windsor, and Toronto, he is now poised to release his master work, "Terminal Illness", a picturesque journey into the troubled mind of a man living in the inner city of Detroit, struggling with the everyday burdens of a broken society. Sharing production credits with Wu-Elements affiliate Bronze Nazareth (RZA, Masta Killa, Kool G Rap), this hiphop throwback album is already being heralded as a classic. The time in which this inferno could be contained has passed, and the name Altaire is spreading amongst the people like a wildfire.
