Winning the award for 'Female Rising Star' at the 2011 Australian Independent Country Music Awards of Australia in October made the masses again stand up and take notice to the 2005 Telstra Road to Tamworth Winner. Gaining 3 x finalist berths at the 2012 Country Music Awards of Australia at the Official Launch of the 40th Jayco Tamworth Country Music Festival has now confirmed what many key industry people have been predicting – Aleyce Simmonds is one of our most promising Singer/Songwriters.
The prestigious title of 'Female Rising Star' was added to Aleyce's list of accolades, which includes
- 2005 Telstra Road to Tamworth Winner
- Winner 2007 Victorian and National Vocal Collaboration of the year Award for the track 'The Way
You Make Me Feel' with Paul Costa.
The journey began for Aleyce when her prize winning debut single Mighty Mighty Love charted in the top
10 Nationally on Radio and the corresponding music video went to #1 and became the most requested music video in the history of the Country Music Channel.
Aleyce's dream to be a successful recording artist began to take shape as she commenced the creation of her first album, working closely with Award Winning Producer and songwriter, Rod McCormack and Sony Music Australia.
Writing with some of Australia's finest songwriters gave Aleyce a great insight into what it takes to be a quality writer.
She co-wrote Graeme Connor's second single from his 'Fiddlers Feast Album 'Bondwood Boat', whilst co-writing her entire album.
In 2008 Aleyce joined forces with Dianna Corcoran and Amber Lawrence to tour the 'Chic Frontier' show, which proved to be incredibly successful. The girls continued to tour together throughout 2009, helping Aleyce consolidate a great fan base that eagerly awaited her album, Pieces Of Me.
Aleyce also toured Australia with Graeme Connors, Adam Harvey, Anthony Callea and many more.
The first single from the debut album 'The Keeper' lived up to expectation, being included on the 'Winners 2010' - a compilation of the best releases of 2009 in Australian Country Music and also produced a nomination for Best Female Rising Star at the Australian Independent CM Awards.
The album "Pieces Of Me" was launched in Jan 2011 at the Tamworth Country Music Festival to a SELLOUT crowd and soon after, the second single 'When I Say Too Much' hit the charts on Australian Country Music Radio and on the Country Music Channel.
The third single, The Healing Hands of Time, simply written about a girl who has lost her love proved to be a track many relate to, making it's way just outside the top 10 on the Australian Country Radio and CMC charts.
'The Healing Hands of Time' also earned Aleyce positions in the top 5 of Telstra New Talent Of the Year and Female Artist of the Year categories at the 2012 Country Music Awards of Australia (Golden Guitar Awards). Bondwood Boat, co-written with multi-award winner Graeme Connors was named a top 5 finalist in the Toyota heritage song of the Year category.

Aleyce has shared with us 'Pieces' and left us all wanting more from this incredibly talented singer!
