Alex Usher & Rich Usher: Dear Old Buffalo Boy (The Mountaineer's Courtship) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 11, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
This is my parents, folksingers who performed on Gaslight Square in St. Louis, doing a hilarious tune called "Dear Old Buffalo Boy". It came from a 1927 recording by Ernest Stoneman titled ""The Mountaineer's Courtship". The second tune is "Tumbalalaika", a Russian Yiddish Folk love song. Mom and Dad were part of the "folk revolution" that nearly took over the country. This was filmed in December 1966 by Pierre Chouteau, a close friend of my parents and descendant of the founder of St. Louis. Pierre had the best camera equipment of the day because he was one of the cameramen for Marlin Perkins "Wild Kingdom".
