On Halloween 2014, Danielle LoPresti & The Masses became "Dandelion & The Masses" as a means to inform about the revolutionary Prop. 47, which if passed, would end felony sentencing for drug possession and petty theft crimes.
Prop. 47 would permanently reduce incarcerations and shift one billion dollars, over the next five years, from state corrections to K-12 school programs and mental health and drug treatment.
Millions of taxpayer dollars are spent to keep non-violent offenders behind bars for extended sentences. It's time to put that money into our schools and into drug rehabilitation efforts.
