This Town
I was born and I grew up in this town
but lately all I feel is stuck in this town
I've been hangin' 'round so long
don't know why I can't get gone
I don't know what's been holding me in this town
'Cause there really ain't a lot to do in this town
You just watch the cars just passing through this town
meet in the parking lot
split some fries and smoke some pot
it's pretty much the same old thing in this town
CHANNEL
I guess I like the neighborhood in this town
and the pizza's always pretty good in this town
and the houses on my street
under shady maple trees
there's a lot of stuff that feels real right in this town
But damn, it's tough to make ends meet in this town
seems all I do is work and sleep in this town
and dreams get pushed aside
when you're just trying to survive
Oh, there should be a whole lot more to life in this town
BRIDGE:
I can't rise above
So, why do I still love this town?
You see, I've got get dreams that just don't fit in this town
It don't pay to think too big in this town
You get a cold slap in the face that leaves you out of place
when you realize that you don't belong in this town
Oh, my God have you forsaken me in this town
it's like an angry fist is breakin' me in this town
Oh man, it's something mean that's got me on my knees
with a voice that says you're nothing here in this town
INST CHANNEL
Out on this road that's headed out of this town
So mixed up and confused about this town
and it's gettin' hard to drive with these tears in my eyes
I love you and I'll miss you, God damn this town
