Alana Chirino

i was born and raised in miami 30 years ago by a band of latin gypsy musicians. i grew up listening to everything from the beatles to antonio carlos jobim to john williams movie scores. my dad used to love to crank up the volume to a deafening degree in the car and listen to the ET soundtrack. i also recall plugging my ears in the back seat as he would blast sergio mendes' fanfarra as he would drum along on the steering wheel. i used to dress up in my mom's show costumes and put her heels on that were 17 sizes too big and imitate her while singing along to her spanish power pop ballads. i always knew that i wanted to be a musician and never really considered having anything to "fall back on". i love to sing and write and hope to share that with the world. i moved to LA 4 years ago and have been involved in several music endeavors including a band with one of my 4 sisters, nicolle chirino, called starstereo. i played bass in a band with the very talented eric nicolau called sol giant and am currently playing bass and singing in a new project called animal talk that i'm very excited about. i also like to get out and play acoustic shows and sing my songs and practice my craft. i'll keep writing and posting stuff on here and the facebook and the youtubes, so if you like please give a thumb up or "like" me by clicking a button. thanks for reading!
