DESCRIPTION:
Komm zurück (J'attendrai)(Dino Olivieri/Ralph M. Siegel) - Hans Georg Schütz m.s. Orchester, Refraingesang: Rudi Schuricke, Grammophon 1939
----------------------------------
One of the most beautiful European dance tunes ever composed: "J'attendrai" (Italian "Tornerai", German "Komm zurück") was originally composed by an Italian, Dino Olivieri; but for some reason, the most beautiful, sensitive, melancholic interpretations of that huge international hit of the Summer 1939 - were recorded by the nazi-Germany dance bands (e.g. Kurt Widmann, Michael Jary, Kurt Hohenberger and dozens of others). Perhaps, that tune's calmness and sweetness was the farewell German soul bid to its better part, just a few months before the worse part started the greatest catastrophe in the history of the civilisation..?

Hans Georg Schütz (b.1912 in Stettin - d.1976 in Hemmoor) German composer, pianist and accordionist. From late 1930 until 1960s he lead his own band and made numerous popular dance music recordings for Deutsche Grammophon between 1939-43. Many of them were popularised among nazi soldiers in all European fronts, being diffused on the air by the powerful radio stadion Soldatensender Belgrad.
