Varisty Singers and Orchestra: Abend Lied (Gramophone Records) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 01, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Gramaphone records was a 50's budget label ran by a man that collectors call Eli Oberstien. Eli was the proud (in the loosest terms because some of his releases were not legally produced) owner of at least a half a dozen plus budget labels. Some of these budget labels were what I call duplicate labels (meaning the releases on some labels were just straight up reissues of his other "labels" albums). I believe Pickwick (who ended up owning all the material from these labels because eli sold the company to them), the grand daddy of the budget labels go most of their early marketing ideas from oberstien, as pickwick reissued the same material across at least a half dozen buget labels also.

So now that we have some background, you might want to learn more about the album. I have to applogize that I don't know much about this album, what I know is this: it was issued in 1954, it has four South Pacific songs and twelve other filler tracks (some of them are quite impressive, and to name a few, Shine On Havest Moon, Clementine, and Perpetual Motion). I hope you enjoy this fantastic album of "Selections From South Pacific and Others"!

From this video on, the content changes to a more easy listening filler. The selections are going to be classical on this album from now on.
