Aerosol is Rasmus Rasmussen from Copenhagen, Denmark. Rasmus started his solo project in 2000 while working with band mates Jakob Skøtt (Syntaks), Jonas Munk (Manual) and Jess Kahr in the post-rock band Limp (Morr Music). His debut EP as Aerosol was released on Active Suspension in 2001 and was shortly followed by a handful of compilation appearances. In 2006 Rasmus teamed up with the Unlabel imprint to release his first full-length - the limited edition "All that is Solid melts in to Air". In contrast to the minimal electronics of his first material Rasmussen has taken Aerosol to a much grander, warmer, and organic place which now utilizes the guitar as main instrument. Whether acoustic or heavily processed the guitars are thoughtfully aided by gauzy layers of synths and dub-wise electronics. This can all be heard on his second full-length - Airborne - which has just been released by n5MD.

"On his new October 6 album Airborne, Danish electronica wiz Rasmus Rasmussen --aka Aerosol -- creates lavishly layered ambient landscapes of uncommon depth and beauty. Any geek with a keyboard, a computer and half an ego can create "music" but to do it well, to paint the canvas with real melodies, however densely compacted or stretched out, is something special. [.] Recommended." - Direct Current

"[.] It is high time to recognize all things airborne, including Rasmus Rasmussen's 2nd release Airborne, to their former splendour. Rasmussen combines slow-releasing synth melodies with stuttering glitch beats, and draws from such influences as Morocco, sleep-deprivation, and sunrises. As corny as it may sound: listen to Airborne, take off, and fly away." - "Record of the week", nowlikephotograhs

"[.] the music Rasmus Rasmussen is making is heavenly. He played in a Danish band called Limp with fellow Dane and electronic artist, Jonas Munk, who now records as Manual and Aerosol is in the shoegaze-electronica mode popularized by Ulrich Schnauss. But Aerosol is not afraid of an intoxicating melody tied to a seductive atmosphere. It's another great release from the n5MD Label." - John Deliberto, number 10 best cd of 2009

"[.] Airborne, his second studio album, is an exquisite delicacy. The music is deliberately Aerosol purified to give free rein to contemplation. In sum, it marks a broad road slowly so that everyone can wander its speed and its ideas. Each piece is a piece that can be isolated with more pleasure to get lost. It is founded in the spirit of Helios." [.] - Chroniques Électroniques

"Under the appropriate airy alias Aerosol [Rasmus Elm Rasmussen] cultivates a crackling guitar and drum machine driven ambient, which induces pleasant reminiscents of Brian Eno and Boards of Canada in their most accessible play area. "Airborne" is weightless sound, cool as the autumn breeze, soothing as Xanax and laid back as the lasiest fart of a neutered cat you can imagine, but never nauseating as New Age or sweet as syrup. [.]" - Soundvenue

"Airborne by Rasmus Rasmussen, aka Aerosol, who has played for years with Manual in Limp, is a great album. Classic electronica, four chords per track, acoustic guitar and beautiful pads. The references are quite clear: Shoegaze, and the Cocteau Twins. You can never get enough of that." - Groove Magazine

"[.] the Dane's only at sophomore level, but sheesh, what a sophomore he's onto with Airborne. His sequel to his All that is Solid Melts in to the Air (2006) debut is kind of what Spring means to Winter; or what good pudding means to undercooked mains. The minimal breaks of that first LP—cold and clipped to stick out from the pomp popular three years ago—have now grown wings, blossomed, and been flushed with atmospheric textures to lift you out of the niggles of today. "Rasmus Rasmussen is a former member of Limp on Morr Music, and you can still clearly hear this in his dreamy approach. The Dane understands the simplicity of the beauty in the sounds, just like the introverted complexity of his craft on guitar. A peaceful, very airy indietronics album, which never imposes itself, but is simply there, and exudes a soft luster of perfect harmony." - De:Bug

"[.] Ultimately Airborne is a tribute to music's ability to open spaces which didn't exist before they were set to music. The music is more than just a recollection of what was. It is as much a recognition that the nature which surrounds us, is associated with a greater nature that we have access to through the emotions that transcend the individual perception of time and place. It is such an emotional awareness through music that makes Airborne a piece of art that successfully connects with the romantic tradition." - Geiger

"[.] A lovely record in the best sense." 8/10 - Diskant
